About Specialty Cafètiere

Specialty Cafetiere was founded by Paolo Giovinazzo and his cousin Mauro Laruffa.

Paolo is a 20 years experience coffee roaster and director of Caffè Cannizzaro coffee company in the south of Italy.

In 2019, he decided to accept Mauro’s challenge with the dream of sharing a strong passion for coffee and innovative ideas in the United Kingdom as well.

Hi, my name is Mauro and I am a coffee lover!

My passion for coffee bloomed in 2015 when I moved to London and I started my first experience in a restaurant as a bar back. Believe me or not, after a life spent in an office buried in paperwork!

Coffee is like life, unpredictable. And this passion will never fade away.

WE DO SPECIALTY COFFEE

We guide you throught the specialty methods, tools and techniques to extract the best flavours from our delicious products.

FILTER ROAST

All the products available on our online shop are roasted for filter. The goal is to produce a cleaner picture of a coffee’s unique taste, that can be objectively identified, e.g. Hazelnut or Apricot, creating then a sweeter cup.

They are suited to a slow extraction using a Cafetiere, V60 dripper, Chemex, Aeropress, Clever dripper and other filter methods with complex and fruity flavours being prominent.

ESPRESSO ROAST

Roasted slightly hotter and for a longer period of time, great for people are looking for more body and less acidity in their coffee.

PROJECTS AND COOPERATION

Marcello Geraci, Arabica Q-grader and Coffee Roaster is a proper coffee Geek; we met him the first time in 2019 while he was competing for a Latte art throwdown. Since then, he did lots of different experiences working all over the UK for the best coffee roasters and finally back in London in 2021, when we got in touch again and started fantastic cooperation.

Marcello is now looking after sourcing and roasting for Specialty Cafetiere and Caffe’ Cannizzaro. Sometimes you can see him behind the coffee machine, don’t hesitate to say hi, he will be amazed to talk about coffee!
